Customer Street – making the most of business

By Graham

There is much talk at the moment of many of the large businesses listed on the stock exchange reporting lower than forecast takings over the Holiday period. Burberry have seen 11% taken off its share price as they reported lower sales figures for the last quarter of 2006. Some have fared better, and HMV were reporting increases in sales along with  the likes of Primark.

Lets not forget that Customer Street is there for the smaller business. If you are thinking of how best to promote your business then one of our promotional services may just be the answer. After all it is the Internet which is showing strong signs of growth compared with the somewhat mixed messages coming from the high street.

Vnunetis quoting that e-commerce had a mind blowing £15.2 billion spent online in the 12 weeks running up to Christmas. Two other credible sources, the Interactive Media Group and Cap Gemini have also reported that 15% of all retail spend it is now online and that the sales figures for internet purchases were also almost 50% higher that in 2006.

There is obviously more to this than meets the eye and each and every business needs to evaluate what the internet could do for them. But there is no escaping that the shopping habits of the UK are changing. Here at Customer Street we have seen a significant upturn in our directory traffic month on month since the Autumn and there doesn’t seem to be any signs that this is about to change by any material degree in the near future.

If you are thinking about creating an online presence or just beefing up your existing promotion then perhaps a comprehensive new media advertising package is one to consider.
